Happy New Year!! a few days late . . .

Ok so I'm a few days late but better late than never so . . . HAPPY NEW YEAR!! I hope your New Year's was a safe and memorable one! Our was VERY mellow, we made it to a wopping 10:45 (I think). Steve had to work that day, being the last day of the month and year so he didn't get home until after 7. Breanna was with her dad and made it to 2:30 she said . . ahhh to be young again.

We had a few visitors last week. My friend Janell came down from Sacramento with her baby girl, Siena, to meet Ryan. Siena just turned 8 months old and is one active little girl. Kinda funny to see my little chunky blob just sitting there. She was so cute tried to feed him her crackers but mom had to let her know that he didn't eat crackers yet. Here is a picture of them :-)

Later that afternoon Janin, Janet, Cheyenne and Oma Amy came for a visit. Always fun to see them, even funnier to see who is gonna win the fight over holding Ryan. Of course Cheyenne immediately went out to hang with the horses her most favorite place to be. I think Oma Amy won the award for holding Ryan the most this visit, even got to feed him. Janet decided that she was coming out another day by herself so she could have him to herself. Too funny!

Sissy came home on Saturday and Ryan was VERY excited to have her back. So was mommy!! Here is a cute video of her playing "horsie" with him which he loved . . .

We went shopping with my friend Kimmie and her littlest one, Gracie, yesterday and Ryan was GREAT! Gracie wanted to share her lunch with him and play tic tac toe but once again we had to break a girls heart and tell her he wasn't old enough. The best news of all . . . last night he slept over 10 HOURS!!! He went down around 9:15 and I had to wake him up at 7:30 this morning so I could feed him before taking Breanna to school. Of course I woke up in a panic at 5 when Steve's alarm went off and stayed awake expecting him to wake up any second. Silly me! Lets hope this cycle continues cause mama LIKES it!

Two weeks from today I go back to work and I am NOT looking forward to it!!! We have a great babysitter lined up for Ryan, I just wish we could afford for me to stay home with him. Too bad we have this little thing called a mortgage and we need minor things like health insurance benefits!!

Where has the time gone?

Wow it has been a while since I've posted and I really do not have an excuse other than trying to get ready for the holidays and Ryan's FIRST Christmas!!!

Christmas came and went and Ryan pretty much slept through it all . . . shocking right? Ryan got to finally meet his Uncle TJ who came in from Colorado for a few days. Pretty sure he stole his heart too. Of course he made out well and got a ton of new clothes, which he needed since he is so rapidly growing! (In fact I weighed him yesterday and he is up to 14lbs already! Can't wait to see what he is at his next drs appt on Jan 29th!) He got a few toys but nothing over the top. He did get this musical light up toy that he can lay under from Grandma and Papa but right now he is TERRIFIED of it! Everytime I put him under it the bottom lip comes out and he SCREAMS! Poor little guy!

He is finally doing some good stretches at night in regards to his sleep pattern. We've had several 8 hour stretches and some 6 and 7 hour ones. Apparently 5-6 at this age is considered sleeping through the night . . . but we all know me. . . I prefer the 7 and 8 hour ones.

Here are a few recent pics of my little CHUNK . . .

Doctor Update

I could have sworn I already posted this but apparently this mommy brain of mine is working overtime!

So last Friday we headed to Ryan's 2 month check up - technically he was 1 day shy of being 7 weeks but who's counting right. I am proud to announce that I do indeed have a chunker on my hands, not that any of us are shocked by this. Ryan weighed in at 12lbs 3oz! He has once again moved on in the clothing sizes and is exclusively in size 3-6 months! My little moose!

His doctor seemed pleased with his growth and said he was doing great. After we were done in the exam room we headed over to the dreadful injection clinic. To my surprise he did great! They gave him a dose of Tylenol before they started the shots and I'm thinking that may have helped. He only cried for a second and we timed it right so he could eat right after. He then fell asleep and once again slept the rest of the day away. They told me to give him Tylenol every 4 hours, but he never ran a fever and was not fussy so he never got another dose. What a good boy I have!

His next appointement is January 29th, 7 weeks from now. . . it will be interesting to see if he continues his growing pattern.

Visiting Santa

After family day with our wonderful dentist, we headed to the mall for Ryan's first visit with Santa. Breanna went back and forth on whether or not she was going to be in the picture. As you can see below she opted out. When we got there Ryan was of course sleeping - why wouldn't he be right? - so they asked me if I wanted to do the "sleeping with Santa" pose or the traditional one. I was a little hesitant on doing this "new" pose over the traditional one because well its not "traditional" . . . however boy am I glad we went for it!!
