What is this funny stuff??

Ryan's dr told me to start him on foods (cereal, fruits and veggies) at 4 months. Well when he turned 4 months old last week I wasn't quite ready to do this. I kept thinking "this sure seems early" "I don't remember starting Breanna before 6 months" etc etc.

Every night when we eat dinner, Ryan sits in his high chair at the table with us and stares at all of our plates and at all of us eating. Almost as if he was saying "Um excuse me but I think you forgot my food" or "Hey how about you give me a little bite of that" Well last night we gave in. Started out with just plain rice cereal, and he did not care for that so much. So I went and got some applesauce and did a combo thing and he LOVED it! Excuse the messiness of scratch on his eye (poor baby) and the messy bib, it received more food than Ryan did I think.

Uncle Sal happened to come over and thought Ryan should actually be eating what we were eating instead of this "mushy" stuff . . .

Another thing I forgot to post about is that we officially have a roller!! Mom, Dad and Grandma have all seen Ryan roll from tummy to back. He has even somehow figured out how to scoot, when laying on his back AND tummy. Maybe we need to start calling him "inchworm".

My little Valentines

Valentines Day came and went. It was a very mellow day and we did not do much. Breanna was with her dad for the weekend so I went and picked her up. Before that Steve had surprised me with beautiful red roses and a box of pb cups . . . YUMMY!

Here are a few pictures I was able to get of my two little Valentines . . .

And last but not least a "bath time" shot of Ryan. Every now and then I wonder if his eyes are going to stay blue. Some days they look EXTREMELY blue and others they seem darker. Well in this picture it sure looks like there is no chance of them changing! Lets keep our fingers crossed!!

First cold - BOO!

Well it was bound to happen sooner or later . . . Ryan is experiencing his first cold. BOO!! The sucky part is that there is relatively nothing I can do for him except wait it out. The good part is that he is not running a fever and has not lost his appetite - aside from not wanting to nurse vs taking the easy way out and going for the bottle. The humidifier on at night is helping a little, I think so we will continue with that and watch for any signs of him getting worse.

Steve also has it, which means that with both my men having it I was bound to get it too right? YEP! Sure enough, today I am experiencing the first signs which means laying LOW this weekend! Mucinex and Nyquil here I come! Thankfully Breanna is with her dad this weekend so hopefully she will not get it, especially since she is out of school next week for "winter break/ski week".

Baptism

Saturday came and went and all went perfectly! We were a little concerned with the weather, especially when it started raining Friday evening, considering we were expecting close to 50 people! Lucky for us the dark clouds parted and the sun came out and it could not have been more beautiful!!

The service was wonderful, Father Larry did an excellent service. Ryan did pretty darn well considering he had 40+ cross signs made on his forehead blessing him, and had shots the day before at his well check visit. I on the other hand was sweating the entire time, thanks to the vicodin I took to subside my pain from my incident on Wednesday.

My friend Paige once again took some GREAT pictures . . . here are just a few for you to enjoy, ignore my "stuffed sausage" look, I swear it was bloating from the ruptured cyst haha.

Ryan's 4 month check up

Well at 4 months . . . ok really he is 3 months and 2 weeks . . . our stats are as follows:

Weight . . . . 14lbs 12oz

Height . . . . 25 inches!!

We are growing like a weed! We had a slight reaction with fussiness to shots this time but overall did pretty well.

His dr said that we can start cereal any time after we hit 4 months. I have not decided when I will start yet so we will see. I think Breanna started cereal around 6 months, I think most babies start around 6 months.
