I could have sworn I already posted this but apparently this mommy brain of mine is working overtime!
So last Friday we headed to Ryan's 2 month check up - technically he was 1 day shy of being 7 weeks but who's counting right. I am proud to announce that I do indeed have a chunker on my hands, not that any of us are shocked by this. Ryan weighed in at 12lbs 3oz! He has once again moved on in the clothing sizes and is exclusively in size 3-6 months! My little moose!
His doctor seemed pleased with his growth and said he was doing great. After we were done in the exam room we headed over to the dreadful injection clinic. To my surprise he did great! They gave him a dose of Tylenol before they started the shots and I'm thinking that may have helped. He only cried for a second and we timed it right so he could eat right after. He then fell asleep and once again slept the rest of the day away. They told me to give him Tylenol every 4 hours, but he never ran a fever and was not fussy so he never got another dose. What a good boy I have!
His next appointement is January 29th, 7 weeks from now. . . it will be interesting to see if he continues his growing pattern.

Visiting Santa
After family day with our wonderful dentist, we headed to the mall for Ryan's first visit with Santa. Breanna went back and forth on whether or not she was going to be in the picture. As you can see below she opted out. When we got there Ryan was of course sleeping - why wouldn't he be right? - so they asked me if I wanted to do the "sleeping with Santa" pose or the traditional one. I was a little hesitant on doing this "new" pose over the traditional one because well its not "traditional" . . . however boy am I glad we went for it!!

Random thought . . .
As I sit here feeding Ryan, during his 1:30am feeding, I can not even imagine having to go back to work today!!
No, I am not actually going back today but if it was not for the FMLA "baby bonding" leave today is the day I was suppose to return back to work. Six weeks, thats all they give new mothers unless you have a c-section. . . too bad its not like Canada where they get a full YEAR! Now THAT would be nice!

A bunch of firsts for Ryan
So many things have happened this past week.
Ryan had his first Thanksgiving which was very uneventful. Breanna was at her dad's house so it was just Steve, Ryan, Grandma, Papa and I which made for a very quiet house. The guys headed out first thing to continue working on the new roof for the barn - which finally got done woohoo! This means no more sinking muddy feedings for the horses. I ran out to get my yearly paper to see what the ads looked like for Black Friday, of which nothing really caught my eye. Then mom and I, oh and Ryan, watched 2 movies . . . My Sister's Keeper and The Ugly Truth. Both fairly decent movies. I can honestly say I expected My Sister's Keeper to be much sadder than I found it but I think I was prepared for it so that helped.
Gobble Gobble:

Friday we had our first big play date at my friend Jessica's house. Our friend Tiffany was in town with her new baby Lia so we all went over there for a get together/brunch/fun day! It was baby heaven! Brandon, Lia and Ryan are all within about 6 weeks of each other. Colton, Bo and Gracie were there also. Breanna would have been in kid heaven if she was there. We will have to set something else up so she can see the kids all together too.

Friday night after our first big play date mommy decided that it was going to be Ryan's first night in his big boy crib! Daddy was not so sure about this but he is not the one getting up in the middle of the night either so his vote really did not count. I am proud to say he did great! I put him down about 9:30, he woke up at 2:30 and then again at 6:30! WOOHOO!! Saturday night he slept in there also and went back to his normal 1am and 5am wakeups. Still two times a night is not bad for a 6 week old. Of course I would LOVE once or even none but I'll take what I can get for now!
I hope you all had a wonderful, safe holiday! Ryan has his next doctors appointment this coming Friday. We are all anxious to see how much he has grown!!

Comparison . . .
So as I was taking pictures of Ryan yesterday it made me go back and look at pictures of Breanna at the same age and boy was I in for a surprise.
From the second Ryan was born, scratch that, from the second we saw Ryan in the 4D ultrasound everyone thought he looked like Steve. Same hairline, same nose, same cheeks, same lips.
Well take a look at what I discovered . . . Ryan is on the top . . .

Aside from the eye color, and obviously a few more lbs on Ryan, I think there are some definite similarities. It will be interesting to see what happens as Ryan gets older. Maybe my genes are stronger than I thought . . .
